The Formal Interview Guide was developed in order to insure that you as the Manager comply with all of the laws regulating the interview process. At the same time the FIG allows you to conduct interviews that will help you compare "apples to apples". As you are aware, it is easy to get sidetracked from the interview while conducting the conversation. The FIG allows you to stay "on track" during the interview. You will also use it to prepare for the interview, determining what questions you will need to ask in order to satisfy questions that arose from the reference checks.
